We are heading home from visiting in Las Vegas and decided to take advantage of this years Super Bloom of wildflowers...so we are making some detours.
First stop was Antelope Valley and the California Poppy Reserve. The hillsides were ablaze with orange poppies (and lots of visitors).
We then headed over to Carrizo Plain National Monument where Goldfields (a beautiful yellow wildflower) are in bloom.
This photo had lots of goldfields in the foreground and on the hillsides but a swath of blue between. We don't know what the blue is but it is likely either lupine or baby blue eyes, since we saw both of those.
We also saw one lupine
and a fair number of Baby Blue Eyes.
